Desert Dulcimers

Next Meeting Time:

Our next club meeting will be held on Sunday, May 13th from 2:00pm to 4:00pm at the Pointe Tapatio Club House located at 10655 North 9th Street, Phoenix, 85020.  Yes, we know it's Mother's Day, so we'll find some old time music to play to honor Mother.  Look forward to seeing everyone there!

We don't have a fixed play list that we follow during our club meetings but we do all own and highly recommend Stephen Seifert's "Join the Jam" and "Join the Jam II" books in DAD.  These have pretty much become our source for all old time and folk songs we play.  Click here to learn more and to purchase these great books...go, buy them both now!

Here's our calendar of events for 2012:

*  "High Strung" is performing at the Glendale Folk and Heritage Festival on Sunday, March 25th from 12:30 to 1:00 at the Maintenance Shed.  We'll be teaching a beginning/intermediate Mountain Dulcimer class on Sunday from 11:00 to 12:00 at the Olive Grove East venue so please come join us.  Click here for the full performance and workshop schedule.  This is one festival you don't want to miss!

*  "High Strung" will also be performing at the 27th Annual Tucson Folk Festival on Sunday, May 6th from 2:30-3:00pm on the Plaza Stage.  This is a great festival featuring over 200 of the best musicians from around Arizona and the Southwest.  Click here for more information and directions.  For the 14th year, KXCI Community Radio will broadcast the festival from the Plaza Stage on approximately a 90-minute tape delay. Those who can't make it in person can listen on the radio at 91.3 FM or over the internet at kxci.org.
